In February 1905, Charles Beckman and 14 Red Wing business investors organized the Red Wing Shoe Company. The first boots and shoes featured “pegged-and-nailed construction,” which was the industry norm, to supply workers with durable, comfortable footwear. Quality and craftsmanship set Beckman’s shoes apart and remains the company's guiding principle to this day.
